Entrevista a Paolo Barbieri/ Interview to Paolo Barbieri DUAL

Abajo tenéis la entrevista oficial (en inglés)// DOWN YOU HAVE THE OFFICIAL INTERVIEW IN ENGLISH

Aunque prefiero monstruos, dragones, mujeres guerreras y naves espaciales.

Hi, Diaventurers, Today is a special day. We had (drumroll ^^)....the...
INTERVIEW TO PAOLO BARBIERI!!!

First of all, I've to say Thank you so much to Paolo Barbieri for these great oportunity. Because he's one of my favourite artists.

WEB:http://www.paolobarbieriart.com

And he publish his new book: "Apocalisse"

-Airin: Did you know that you wanted to be an artist when you was a child or you discovered after?
Paolo: When I was a child I enjoyed copy on paper the characters and robots from Japanese cartoons (UFO Robot Grendizer, Jeeg Kotetsu, Daltanious, Starblazers, Great Mazinger, etc). Then I saw movies like Never Ending Story, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, LadyHawke, Star Wars, Alien, Dune and many others.
I love the fantasy and science fiction, and with my drawings I copied these characters, and then I tried to create new ones. In short, I have always drawn and it was this passion that later led me to turn this into my work.

-Airin:What is the most influenciable in you to create a illustration: the music, yours dreams, a picture...?
Paolo: All. I believe everything I see around me and how the landscapes, people, movies, books, music, art museums, comic books, picture books and more important in my experience.
All these inputs are stored in my head and then translated over time into other images and colors. When I design I really like listening to music, especially soundtracks: wordless music  distracts me less, and in a way that will catapult me into the worlds design.

3.-Airin: What kind of picture do you enjoy more to draw?
Paolo: I like to draw everything that has to do with the imaginary worlds of science fiction and fantasy. Also I prefer monsters, dragons, warrior women, spaceships.

-Airin: What is for you drawing?
Paolo: As I said before, for me to draw is how to free the spirit of the child in me. When I drawing first of all I want to create something like that to me, that intrigues me, that worries me or make me dream. I try to tell a story through images, and illustrations as a vehicle to my feelings, which in various ways will be communicated to the readers.

-Airin:What do you say for young students of digital to improve their talent?
Paolo: To draw with digital techiniques is very nive indeed, and the computer helps you to be faster and more productive. But I always try to make people understand that first of all you need to know to draw with their hands and with pencils. Once you learn how to draw in the traditional way on paper, everything is easier. It should draw much, and learn to observe. These are the things that I consider most important for an illustrator.
